Now the ICC has put the Pakistan Cricket Board in trouble by giving this pitch a ‘below average’ rating for the second time.
International cricket may stop in Rawal Pindi
This pitch of Rawal Pindi has been given demerit point for the second time by the ICC. Earlier, in the Test match played against Australia, this pitch was also given a demerit point by the ICC. Getting demerit points from the ICC twice in a row can prove to be a threat to the Pakistan Cricket Board. If this demerit point reaches five, then this ground will be banned from ICC for 12 months for international cricket.
Andy Pycroft of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees said of the pitch, “It was a very flat pitch, which did not provide any help to any type of bowler. This was the main reason that the batsmen scored very fast and both the teams scored big. The pitch hardly deteriorated during the match. There was little help for the bowlers, so I found the pitch to be ‘below average’ according to ICC guidelines.
Record score was made
Let us tell you that a record score was made in this first Test match played between Pakistan and England. The batsmen of both the teams showed a lot of aggression. A total score of 1768 runs was made in this entire match. This was the third highest score in Test cricket.
