Cannes 2024: The prestigious film festival began on 14 May this year and is all set to serve food from Moilee to Lamb Yakni to Melon Rabri.
Reportedly, India will be hosting “Bharat Parv” at the film festival. It will act as a platform that will help Indian films to be showcased in the world forum.
The Menu planned to be served at Bharat Perv is handpicked by an expert chef of India Varun Totlani. He has selected the food items from the corners of India that consist mixture of unique spices of India.
What’s the menu of Bharat Parv at Cannes?
Here is the list of food menus from starters to desserts:
The starters include Puranpuli Tart, Prawn Ver Masala Tart Makai Mathri and Laal Mass Pao.
For the main course, they will be serving Asparagus and Butternut Squash, Moilee with fresh Coconut Milk, Mushroom Bhutwa with Potato foam which is inspired by the houses of Uttarakhand. The main course doesn’t end here as there will be also lamb Yakni with a yoghurt-based gravy with Kashmiri Fannel, and Cardamon and served with morel miss rice with katlam.
During Dinner, there is Jicama and coconut malai momo with passion fruit thukpa, Ponkha and Charred Corn Chaat. be Khad Sweet Potato with Malabar Paratha, Khad Turbot with Malabar Paratha, Black Garlic Pulao with Fresh Toor Dal and Kashmiri Morel are the vegetarian options.
For the non-vegetarian guests, there is Black Garlic Pulao with Fresh Toor Dal and Lamb.
For the Desserts, there is a dessert called Cacao which will use all the parts of the fruit and will be served inside the aged shell of the fruit. Melon Rabri with Roselle Sorbet with cacao is also served as dessert.

The list doesn’t ends here! Even the judge of Shark tank and Executive Director Of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Namita Thapar has made her debut wearing a beautiful pastel green gown.
Namita said, “Typically you associate Cannes only with film stars or people from the movie industry. Getting entrepreneurs here shows that we can be multi-dimensional. We can do really well in business and ace in fashion as well. In a way breaking some stereotypes.”
Not only celebrities but also it was a debut for Jammu and Kashmir at Cannes which will last for the next 2 weeks till 25th May 2024;

The Jammu and Kashmir Booth in the Bharat Pavilion of the famed Cannes Film Market (Marche du Film) was inaugurated by H. E. Shri. Jawed Ashraf, Ambassador of India to France and Shri Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GoI, along with dignitaries from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, National Film Development Corporation as well as leading personalities of Indian and International Cinema. The presence of Jammu and Kashmir at this global stage aims to promote Jammu and Kashmir as Film Makers’ paradise and will definitely attract the attention of Film Producers of international repute to come to shoot in Jammu and Kashmir.
