Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the fact that India needs a ‘Wed in India’ movement along the lines of ‘Made in India,’ and he urged wealthy industrialists to hold at least one destination wedding in their families in Uttarakhand each year, saying it will help the hill state emerge as a wedding destination.
He told the inaugural session of the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit at the FRI here that going overseas for destination weddings has become common among wealthy and billionaire business families.
Concept of Wed in India
During this inaugural program, PM Modi encouraged affluent business families to hold destination weddings in the country rather than abroad.
“It is said that marriages are made in heaven.” But why are young couples having their weddings overseas rather than in the country of gods (Devbhoomi)?
“My prescription for young and wealthy couples is that there should be a movement similar to ‘Wed in India’ along the lines of Made in India,” he remarked.
“Wed in India,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, adding that if the habit of conducting destination weddings in Uttarakhand begins and continues for five years, the state will emerge as a worldwide wedding destination.
As per the latest trends, we have seen many Bollywood stars like Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, Virat and Anushka both married outside India in places like Italy. PM Modi asked the youth to marry in India with the blessing of the Divine God in their homeland.
Way Forward
India is one of the most beautiful landscape nations. The nation is best known for its cultures and rituals. The wedding function in itself is an economic development that will bring in more employment.
The wedding is the most auspicious ritual in India. PM Modi’s initiative of Wed in India is a great idea to enjoy the special day in his or her homeland with their family members.
India provides all landscapes, ranging from hilly mountains to coastal beaches and plains. Uttarakhand in itself provides a classy view and aroma for a wedding ceremony.
