On Sunday, January 28, India secured a convincing victory over the United States of America (USA) by 201 runs at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein, maintaining an unblemished record in the U19 World Cup 2024 group stage.
Building on previous triumphs against Bangladesh and Ireland, India showcased yet another dominant performance against the USA. With three consecutive wins, the Boys in Blue enter the Super 6s with formidable momentum. Topping Group A, India amassed 6 points and boasted a commanding net run rate of 3.240.
In a commanding performance at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein, India’s U-19 cricket team thrashed USA’s U-19 squad by 201 runs in their final Group A clash of the ongoing ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup. Setting a formidable target of 327 runs, India’s batting prowess shone as they posted 326/5 in 50 overs.
Despite an initial stumble with Adarsh Singh’s departure, Arshin Kulkarni and Musheer Khan orchestrated a formidable recovery, forging a robust 155-run partnership for the second wicket. Musheer’s departure at 73 did little to deter India’s momentum, as Kulkarni went on to score a century (108). Captain Uday Sahan contributed crucial runs, propelling India to a challenging total.
In response, USA’s U-19 team faced a daunting chase and could only manage 125/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Utkarsh Srivastava showcased resilience with a 40-run knock off 73 balls, while Naman Tiwari’s impressive four-wicket haul stifled USA’s batting lineup.
