At the end of 2023, when Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna’s much-awaited film Animal launched in theatres, it made huge headlines and news for many particular reasons. While some people praised Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s directorial movie, critics and other people called it toxic and harmful for various uncensored scenes.
The Pushpa and Animal actress Rashmika Mandanna was also criticized and trolled by the public and the critics with many people accusing her of the in-famous Karva Chauth scene in the movie Animal which was unclear to the audience. After several months, She finally gave a suitable reply to the critics by appearing in the latest episode of No Filter Neha show.
About the Karva Chauth Scene
The Karva Chauth in Animal is the scene where Ranbir Kapoor’s character Ranvijay Singh confesses to Rashmika Mandanna’s character Priya that he has slept with another woman. After listening his confession, Priya smashes the strainer used for the moon ritual in Karva Chauth and states ‘Why am I doing this?.‘
She then slaps Ranbir’s Ranvijay character for not coming out clean despite of his arrogance and rolls her eyes across her face in disbelief for Ranvijay states that he did as a plan to avenge his father. The scene ends where she says that his father had died before he attempted and threatened to kill her with a gun.
When the movie Animal released its first teaser, one of the teaser’s parts that created huge headlines was Rashmika Mandanna’s Priya character in that ‘Karva Chauth’ sequence. Social media made fun of the scene where Rashmika’s Priya character was talking to Ranbir’s Ranvijay character while gnashing her teeth. Social media made memes on the scene helping people to understand her statement.
Rashmika Mandanna On No Filter Neha
Recently, the Pushpa and Animal actress appeared on Neha Dhupia’s show No Filter Neha and gave a suitable and beneficial reply to the critics and stated that a lot of hard work was done while creating the ‘Karva Chauth’ scene. She even said that the people on the sets cheered after the done was shot and she conveyed that the scene was potrayed brilliantly.
She stated that ‘I don’t like people trolling women on their bodies.. as long as that’s not the case and they’re trolling me about my films, cinema, my face in the film when I say the dialogue… I know how the performance was. I have done the performance five months ago.’
She even stated that ‘The Karwa Chauth scene which was a nine-minute long scene and while doing the scene, people on the set loved it. They were clapping and felt it was done so well. But the trailer came out and I was trolled so much for that one particular dialogue from the same scene’.

So I thought, I did the 9-minute long scene and everyone on the set liked it, but people now are trolling me for the same. So am I living in a bubble? Like are people not gonna like this scene? Because you know what you’ve shot, but people don’t know. People just know that like those 10 seconds. So I don’t want to ever be in my life where I’m living in a bubble. I need to be on the ground. I need to talk to people. I need to know what’s really going on.’
About the Movie Animal
The movie is directed by Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh fame director Sandeep Vanga Reddy and it stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles while Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri played supportive roles.
The movie is about Ranvijay Singh, the son of the famous industrialist Balbir Singh who goes in the extreme path of revenge and undergoes huge transformation consumed by the quest of vengeance against the enemies who are threatening his father’s life.
The movie collected a box office collection of 917.32 crores against the budget of 100 crores and was declared blockbuster and the 5th Highest grossing Indian cinema of all time. A sequel Animal Park is confirmed to release in the year 2025.
Rashmika Mandanna’s Future Projects
Meanwhile, Rashmika Mandanna will reprise her role as Srivalli along with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa Raj in the 2019 sequel Pushpa: The Rule which is also stated to release in 2024. She also will be seen with South actor Dhanush in the movie Kubera and in the movie Chhava with Vicky Kaushal.
