Actor Vidya Balan has opened her personal life when she had a bad experience with her first boyfriend which was also her first relationship. She also stated in an interview that she remembered her first boyfriend who was not in equal terms with her.
Vidya Balan On Her First Boyfriend Experience
Vidya Balan opened up a on her personal life at an event in Mumbai’s Taj Land Ends where she stated that her first boyfriend cheated on her and how she came to know about the situation.
She stated that ‘I have been cheated on. The first boy I dated cheated on me and I have to tell you he was just an a**. I remember we had just broken up and I bumped into him in college on Valentine’s Day and he turned around and said that ‘I am just going to meet my ex-girlfriend for a date.’ And I was like what? He literally crushed me that day but I have done better than that in life for myself.’
She further stated that ‘she wasn’t a ‘serial dater’ and had only been involved with a few men. Reflecting on her past relationships, she said, “I wasn’t a serial dater. I dated a few men but thankful my first serious long relationship was to the man I am married to.’
However, after a few years, she married Indian producer Siddharth Roy Kapur in 2012 after meeting him at an event in 2010. She also uncovered the fact that the Indian director and producer Karan Johar played the matchmaker between her and Siddharth Roy Kapur.
There was also gossip about Vidya Balan dating Shahid Kapoor whom she starred in Aziz Mirza’s 2008 Hindi romance movie Kismat Konnection.
Vidya Balan on Male Actors Not Being Comfortable Opposite Her
Vidya Balan shared some secret facts in the same interview in which she said that male actors in the Indian industry are uncomfortable acting opposite her. She also stated that despite her success in films, she faced resistance from male actors to share the same screen space.
She stated about this situation that ‘I don’t think they’d be okay even today to star in a Vidya Balan film or a female-led film for that matter. It’s their loss honestly because we are doing better films than they are. I genuinely believe that.
They are doing more formulae-based films, women-led films are far more exciting. Of course, people have been appreciative, but male stars are uncomfortable with women taking centre stage. I don’t think they’d be okay with anyone stealing the thunder. But I never felt bad. I was like if they are threatened, what can I do?.’
Vidya’s Upcoming Projects
Vidya Balan will be seen in her upcoming movie ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ with the Scam 1992 actor Pratik Gandhi, Covert Affairs actor Sendhil Ramamurthy and IIlena D’ Cruz.
It is a Hindi romance comedy movie which tells the story of a couple who are falling out of love and are having private affairs with other individuals. However, after a holiday brings back repairs to their relationship, they can’t decide to share the news with the individuals with whom they are having an affair.
She will also return in the third part of Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which also stars Kartik Aaryan and Tripti Dimri in lead roles and will reprise her role as ‘Manjulika‘ from the 2007 Priyadashan’s movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
