As the release for Pushpa 2: The Rule comes closer, the Indian director Sukumar revealed a secret fact and stated that the South Indian actor Jagadeesh Bhandari was not the first choice to play Pushpa Raj’s friend Keshava in the movie Pushpa: The Rise.
The Indian director stated that another Indian actor was his first choice and he wanted him to play the role of ‘Keshava’ in the movie.
Director Sukumar wanted To cast Suhas
While talking at the trailer release of South Indian actor Suhas’s new movie ‘Prasanna Vadanam’, ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ director Sukumar revealed the secret information that Jagadeesh Bhandari was not in his mind to play the role of Pushpa’s friend ‘Keshava’.
Infact he stated that ‘Bunny (Allu) likes Suhas a lot, and we often talk about you. He was our first choice to play Keshava in Pushpa. You might wonder why we didn’t cast him then. We found out that he was signing films as a lead, so we thought it would be wrong to rope him in for this role.’
He further compared Suhas with the ‘Eega’ and ‘Jersey’ star Nani and stated that ‘I like Nani a lot, I like his performances. We have all seen how Nani grew in his career, and I feel Suhas is growing similarly. He will be the future Nani. If Nani is called a natural actor, Suhas should be called a rooted one. I’ve seen him grow, and he performs so organically.’
While the Indian actor Suhas stated in one of his interview revelead that he missed the opportunity to work with his favourite actor Allu Arjun and director Sukumar. He stated that ‘I auditioned for the character Jagadeesh played as Allu Arjun’s friend in Pushpa. I tried my best but couldn’t get through the opportunity.’

The South Indian actor Suhas first rose to fame for his roles in the movies like Naga Chaitanya’s 2019 movie ‘Majili’, Naveen Polishetty’s 2019 movie ‘Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya‘ and Vijay Deverakona’s 2019 movie ‘Dear Comrade‘.
He also debuted as a lead actor in Sandeep Raj’s 2020 Telegu drama movie ‘Colour Photo’ which helped the movie to win a national award for his brilliant performance in the movie along with the lead actress Chandini Chowdary.He later played negative roles in the movies in Meher Tej’s 2021 movie ‘Family Drama‘ and Adivi Sesh’s 2022 movie ‘Hit: The 2nd Case’.
He is recently seen in the movie ‘Prasanna Vadanam‘ which is a suspense thriller movie directed by Arjun Y.K and it tells the story of a youngster (played by Suhas) who is suffering from face blindness, a condition which prevents him from recognizing the face or the facial expressions. The movie also displays how the disorder affects the life and the mental condition of the youngster.
His upcoming movies are Cable Carry, Anandrao Adventures and Gorre Puranam.
About the Movie Pushpa 2: The Rule
The upcoming most awaited sequel of the year ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule‘ is directed by Sukumar and it stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj in lead roles. The sequel tells the story of the final battle between the notorious sandalwood smuggler Pushpa Raj(Allu Arjun) and SP Bhanwar Singh Shekawat(Fahadh Faasil).
It is considered to be one of the most expensive films to release in 2024 with 10 percent of the film footage was initially shot repeatedly with the 2019 movie Pushpa: The Rise.
The Telegu movie is stated to release on Indian Independence Day with the Bollywood movie ‘Singham Again’ which is directed by Rohit Shetty and stars Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar in lead roles.
