The Reason Behind Iran’s aerial attack on Israel
The tensions between Israel and Iran have been boiling in the middle of the Israel-Palestine war. Iran is also engaged in covert operations by providing and supporting Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon who frequently attacked Israel on many occasions.
Hezbollah is a Lebanese Shia Islamic political party and militant group led by Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah since 1992. The militant group is mainly known to be the first Islamic group in Middle East to use the concept of suicide bombing, assassination, and capturing foreign soldiers, as well as murders and hijackings.
Now, Iranian officials launched a frontal response after attacking Israel by stating that Israel recently killed many of the Iranian high officials and diplomats in the Damascus embassy attack.
During the Damascus embassy attack, many High Iranian officials including Mohammad Reza Zahedi, the senior commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps(IRGC) overseas Quads Force were also killed in the disastrous air strike on 1st April while they were going to attend a meeting in the compound of the embassy.
After the Damascus embassy attack, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei blamed and criticised Israel for killing many Iranian officials in the attack and vowed to take revenge for them.
He stated that ‘Israel “must be punished and shall be’ by stating that an attack will conducted in the same equivalent way to Israel.
On the other side, Israel confirmed its participation in the attack but they stated that ‘they wanted to target the military facility of Quad Forces which impersonated themselves as a civilian structure in Damascus, Syria.’
Israel Officials On The Aerial Strike
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on the war cabinet after the surprise drone attack and called the US Preident Joe Biden who stated that he had confirmed and reasserted ‘America’s ironclad commitment to the security of Israel’.
Daniel Hagari, the Rear Admiral of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that ‘some Iranian missiles had hit inside Israel, causing minor damage to a military base but no casualties.’
He further stated that ‘Together with our allies and partners, we are operating at full force to defend the State of Israel and the people of Israel.’
