Former Liverpool player and English striker Dominik Solanke became Bournemouth’s leading scorer of all time in a draw against Manchester United by 2-2 in the English Premier League, after the Portuguese midfield maestro Bruno Fernandes scored a double for the Red Devils at Bournemouth’s home stadium Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

The Red Devils Manager Erik ten Hag had his job cut out for him after realizing that Bournemouth is a good and strong team but that should not be enough for the Red Devils to give up their motives and result as soon as the match started.

The Goals In the Match

The match started with a brilliant attacking display by Bournemouth in which they showed their motive to win the match, on the other hand, the Red Devils started the match slowly and steadily.

Manchester United attempted to slow down the game but met with little success as they conceded their first goal in the 16th minute when the Red Devils defender Will Kambwala slipped and gave the ball to Dominic Solanke who took full advantage of the situation and scored his 17th goal of this season from about 20 yards which went into the left corner giving Andre Onana no chance.

After the goal, Manchester United was barely holding the ball but it took only a few minutes to level the scoring for the Red Devils when the Portuguese midfielder and the Red Devils skipper Bruno Fernandes who scored the goal straight into the net after getting an assist from his fellow teammate Alejandro Garnacho in the 31st minute.

However, within 3 minutes Justine Kluivert the son of the famous Dutch footballer Patrick Kluivert scored the goal in the 36th minute with a fabulous goal after he netted the ball straight into the bottom corner making it 2-1.

The second half started in the same manner after the Bournemouth fans and players went crazy when the ball hit the hands of English defender Harry Maguire outside the penalty box but it was not awarded.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils skipper Bruno Fernandes again saved the team in the 65th minute by a penalty after it was awarded inside the Cherries penalty box when the ball hit Engish defender Adam Smith‘s arm and VAR confirmed it by reviewing the video.

But everyone on the pitch and the Cherrie fans were not expecting the game to end like that when in the last minute Bournemouth was awarded a penalty.

But the penalty claim was removed by VAR stating that it was just outside the penalty box the fans erupted in disbelief and simply protested against the decision.

The match ends in a draw by 2-2 after the freekick taken by the Cherries hits the wall and the corner gets easily cleared by the defenders.

Manchester United’s Battle for Europe Qualification

Depending on how the season will end, the Red Devils are certainly far away from qualifying for the European football next season.

A sixth spot in the Premiere League will help them to qualify for the Uefa Conference League while a fifth spot will help them to qualify for the Uefa Europa League.

But the chance to qualify for the Uefa Champions League looks distant as their rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are 10 points ahead of the Red Devils and are in competition to qualify for the greatest competition in the entire Europe.

However, winning the FA Cup is their top priority ahead of the semi-final against Coventry City next Sunday.

With this draw, the Red Devils are in the seventh spot in the Premier League behind Newcastle United while AFC Bournemouth occupies the 12th position and remains unbeaten against the Red Devils for the first time.

Player Of The Match

The Red Devils’ poor quality of play is difficult to watch these days but despite their inconsistency in their latest match against Bournemouth they managed to earn a draw and all thanks go to the Portuguese midfielder and Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes who used all his experience and quality in the field and also tried to score from a long-range attempt but that went off the bar in the first half.
