Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui was declared the champion of “Bigg Boss” Season 17 on Sunday.
The announcement was made by show host and Bollywood actor Salman Khan, with the 32-year-old Faruqui winning a cash prize of ₹50 lakh along with a car.

Season 17 of “Bigg Boss” premiered on October 15, 2023, with 17 contestants, including Vicky Jain, Ayesha Khan, Anurag Dobhal, Aishwarya Sharma, Neil Bhatt, Isha Malviya, Jigna Vora, Firoza Khan and Rinku Dhawan.
After weeks filled with emotional turmoil, intense clashes, and suspenseful moments, Munawar Faruqui emerged as the victorious winner of Bigg Boss 17, with Abhishek Kumar securing the first runner-up position. Other finalists included Mannara Chopra, Ankita Lokhande, and Arun Mashettey. Munawar reflected on his challenging journey in Bigg Boss 17, acknowledging the personal cost it had on him.
Munawar emerged as a strong contender in the Bigg Boss 17 house, captivating viewers with his shayaris. However, his popularity took a hit when his ex, Ayesha Khan, entered the house, accusing him of cheating, making false promises, and proposing to another girl. Ayesha also brought up Munawar’s ex-girlfriend, Nazila, during the show. Despite these challenges, Munawar resiliently persevered and secured victory with substantial votes in his favor.
The finale episode showcased special performances by the finalists, former contestants, and comedians Krushna Abhishek, Bharti Singh, and Sudesh Lehri. Additionally, Bollywood stars Madhuri Dixit and Suniel Shetty graced the Bigg Boss 17 stage to promote the reality show Dance Deewane, while Karamm Rajpal and Trupti Mishra promoted their upcoming serial Qayaamat Se Qayaamat Tak.
In 2022, Munawar Faruqui won season one of the reality TV show “Lock Upp”, which was hosted by actor Kangana Ranaut.
