Even after concluding his tour of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is enthralled by the picturesque islands’ splendour. PM Modi expressed his admiration for the breathtaking scenery and the incredibly kind people of the islands on Thursday, sharing some breathtaking photos on his X Twitter. The prime minister tweeted photos from his snorkeling excursion while visiting the Union Territory. He also used the occasion to try some adventure.
I just got the chance to spend time with the Lakshadweep community. The breathtaking scenery of its islands and the extraordinarily kind people never cease to astound me. Major Development projects in Lakshadweep
Over ₹1,150 crore is spent on development projects. In Lakshadweep, development projects valued at ₹1,150 crore were inaugurated, and the foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He started the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fibre Connection (KLI-SOFC) project to solve the Union Territory’s poor internet service.
In addition, PM Modi announced the opening of Kadmat’s Low-Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD) plant, which can produce 150,000 litres of drinkable water daily. In addition, functional tap connections were made available to all households in the Agatti and Minicoy islands with the launch of the Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC).
The solar power plant at Kavaratti, which is the first battery-backed solar power project in Lakshadweep, was also unveiled by PM Modi. The other development projects include renovating the Kalpeni health facility and building five model Anganwadi centres (Nand Ghars) on the five islands of Androth, Chetlat, Kadmat, Agatti, and Minicoy.
