Kartik Aaryan Shines In the Trailer of Chandu Champion
The upcoming movie ‘Chandu Champion‘ is a sports drama movie directed by Kabir Khan (Bajrangi Bhaijaan, 83, and Ek Tha Tiger), and the film will see Kartik Aaryan in the lead role as Chandu Champion, who is a boxer, wrestler, and survivor. The movie is inspired by the life of India’s first paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar. The highlight of the trailer shows the different phases Kartik’s character Chandu Champion undergoes or faces.
The trailer shows Kartik’s character waking up from a deep sleep in 1967 after getting injured in the 1965 India-Pakistan war. After that portion, the clip takes back to the emotional damage Kartik’s character faces when he was a youngster and tells his teacher that he wants to be a wrestler but gets teased by his classmates as ‘Chandu Champion‘. But he refuses to give up his dreams and rises against all the odds. The trailer also shows the old phrase of Kartik’s character when he challenges a case against the President of India by giving up all his medals.
Kabir Khan on Kartik Aaryan
The movie director Kabir Khan announced the name of the movie ‘Chandu Champion’ shortly after the release of his 2021 sports biopic movie ‘83‘, which starred Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Pankaj Tripathi in lead roles. The movie is based on India’s 1983 World Cup win against the West Indies in England. It was already rumored that the upcoming movie ‘Chandu Champion’ is going to be based on the life of Indian paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar, who won a gold medal in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Germany.
The recent posters of the movie showed Kartik Aaryan ripped in the look of Chandu Champion, as he went from 39 to 7 percent body fat in the movie to fit in this role. Kabir Khan stated that ‘The story of Chandu Champion is an incredibly inspiring true story but the journey that Kartik went through to become this champion is no less inspiring.’
Khan said that when he first met Kartik, he told him to remove his body fat so he could perfectly portray the role of an international-level disciplinary sportsman. Kartik smiled and said that he would do it, and within a few months, he came back totally to the level Kabir Khan wanted without the use of steroids. Khan took a photo of Kartik Aaryan on the movie set to show respect and dedication to Aaryan.
Kartik on the Death of His Relatives
Despite reflecting the spirit of emotional damage and never giving up in the movie’s trailer, Kartik Aaryan just launched the trailer a few days after the deaths of his relatives in the hoarding collapse in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, which took 16 lives in the process.
Kartik’s relatives, Manoj and Anita Chansoria were among the 16 people involved in the hoarding collapse accident in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, and he also attended their funerals. At the trailer launch, Kartik Aaryan said that it is his dream to be an actor and perform in the toughest role of his career to bring something special from the movie. He spoke with the crowd at the Gwalior trailer launch of his movie and stated that ‘Mentally how am I feeling? Kaafi kuch chal raha hai meri life mein (lots going on in life) but the show must go on. I’m just fortunate that all of you could join us for the trailer launch of the film here.’
