The long-awaited Google Pixel 8a was going to make its debut in a Google I/O 2024 event next week on May 14, but to everyone’s surprise, the officials launched it on Tuesday in a press event just after Apple launched its new iPad Air and iPad Pro with Pencil Pro.
The Pixel 8a is driven by Google’s Tensor G3 chip, and it also has the Titan M2 security chip. The phone will receive and support 7 years of system and software updates.

As expected from a heavyweight tech company like Google, the Pixel 8a brings a lot of features. It is powered by its own Tensor G3 chip, and it provides almost the equivalent features found in its other series, like the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The phone boasts a dual rear camera system, which includes a 64-megapixel core lens and a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens with LED Flash.
