SRK, the superstar of Bollywood has been admitted to a hospital in Ahmedabad after suffering a heat stroke. The actor was in Ahmedabad to watch the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between his Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday.
“The actor was suffering from dehydration amid a high temperature of 45-degree Celcius in Ahmedabad. He is under medical observation although his health is stable. Security has been tightened around the hospital,” news agency IANS reported, quoting sources.
The actor’s dear friend and actress Juhi Chawla visited the actor at the hospital.
Khan, co-owner of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), celebrated the team’s triumph on Tuesday night with a lap of honour at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Accompanied by his children, Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan, Shah Rukh Khan greeted the audience following KKR’s impressive win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), which secured their place in the IPL 2024 finals.
The official Instagram pages of KKR and the Indian Premier League (IPL) shared pictures and videos of the family’s celebratory walk. SRK chants filled the stadium, and Shah Rukh delighted fans with his iconic open-arms pose.
KKR’s official Instagram page shared snapshots of Shah Rukh Khan thanking fans, captioning them with, “Our lucky charm, our King Khan!”
Now, in a video posted by a fan page on X ,Gauri Khan can be seen paying a visit to her husband at the Ahmedabad.
In the video, the designer-producer can be seen looking worried as she reaches the hospital with a security guard following her inside.
As of now, there has been no official statement regarding Shah Rukh Khan’s current condition. Fans and well-wishers are sending their prayers and hoping for the superstar’s swift recovery.
Celebrities presented during the match
Shah Rukh was in Ahmedabad to watch the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between his team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday. He was accompanied by his daughter Suhana Khan, younger son AbRam, and his manager Pooja Dadlani. Also present in the stadium were Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta, co-owners of KKR, along with Suhana’s close friends Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Navya Nanda, and Agastya Nanda.
The actor’s dear friend and actress Juhi Chawla also visited the actor at the hospital, news agency IANS reported.
Gauri was seen visibly worried as she arrived at the hospital, accompanied by a security guard. Juhi Chawla, alongside her husband Jay Mehta, visited the actor to check on his condition.
The actor was admitted to the multi-speciality K D Hospital on Wednesday.The private hospital has not yet issued any statement on Khan’s health condition.
“Khan is still undergoing treatment at the hospital. It is possible that he may get discharged today,” Ahmedabad (Rural) Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat said.
Fans are praying for the health of the superstar, even the team is tensed about his health condition.
IPL finals are all set to be played between srk’s team KKR and the winners of Qualifier 2, at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Reason behind the heat
Several parts of Gujarat have been reeling under severe heatwave for the last couple of days.
As per a report by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ahmedabad city was under “heatwave” on Tuesday and Wednesday when it recorded a maximum temperature of 45.2 and 45.9 degrees Celsius, respectively.
SRK’s ongoing project
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in the film Dunki. His upcoming movie, reportedly titled King, is anticipated to feature him alongside his daughter, Suhana Khan. Music for the film is rumoured to be composed by Anirudh Ravichander. However, an official announcement regarding King is still awaited.
