Taylor Swift’s historic win at the Grammy Awards 2024 on Sunday, February 5, has got everyone talking. The artist won her 4th Grammy award in the “Album Of The Year” (AOTY) for her 2022 pop album Midnights. The win makes her the only artist in history with as many as four awards in the AOTY category. Swift had previously bagged a win in this category for her albums Fearless (2009), 1989 (2014) and Folklore (2020).
She surpassed eminent artists Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and Frank Sinatra, each of whom have 3 wins in this category. Taylor Swift was previously the only female solo artist to have won this award three times alongside the above-mentioned artists.
Taylor Swift was presented with the prestigious accolade by veteran musician Celine Dion who made a surprise appearance at the event following her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis, which was made official in December 2022.
In her acceptance speech, the pop sensation revealed, “I would love to tell you that this is the best moment in my life, but I feel this happy when I finish a song or when I crack the code to a bridge that I love or when I’m shot-listing a music video, or when I’m rehearsing with my dancers or my band or getting ready to go to Tokyo to play a show. For me, the award is the work. All I want to do is keep being able to do this. I love it so much. It makes me so happy.”
She also thanked her music producer Jack Antanoff calling him a “once in a generation”, who has been a long-time collaborator of Swift and singer Lana Del Rey who featured on “Snow on the Beach”, a hit track from Taylor’s 10th studio album, Midnights.
