Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be performing at the opening ceremony of the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL), which will kick off from 23 Feb with a match between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Despite owning the Indian Premier League franchise club Kolkata Knight Riders, which does not have a WPL team, Khan is set to add star power to the event.
Following the blockbuster clash between MI and DC, the second match will feature Royal Challengers Bangalore against the UP Warriorz, also at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday. The initial 11 matches will be held at the same venue, with the second half of the season, including the playoffs, scheduled to take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
