Xiaomi is poised to unveil its new Xiaomi 14 series globally, potentially debuting on February 25 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Originally launched in China last year with models like the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro, the global launch is expected to introduce a new addition to the series: the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
While the Chinese variants boast the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, speculation indicates that the forthcoming 14 Ultra will elevate performance even further, potentially positioning it as a competitor to flagship devices such as the iPhone 14 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Xiaomi Expected Pricing
Leaks indicate that the price of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected to remain consistent with its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which retails for €1,500 in Europe (approximately Rs 1.3 Lakh). However, a leak suggests that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be priced at €1,099, indicating a slight variation. It’s worth noting that global pricing may differ slightly from Chinese pricing.
In China, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s 12GB variant is priced at RMB 5,999 (approximately Rs 71,600), while the 16GB variant is priced at RMB 6499 (approximately Rs 77,600), suggesting a similar pricing strategy for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Xiaomi 14 series in India, promising to bring top-tier specifications similar to their Chinese counterparts. These smartphones will be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, ensuring exceptional performance. They will also boast UFS 4.0 storage and up to an impressive 16GB of RAM. Furthermore, the devices will be IP68 rated for water and dust resistance, ensuring durability. They will run on the Android 14 operating system out of the box.
The Xiaomi 14 will sport a 6.36-inch screen, while the Pro variant will offer a slightly larger 6.73-inch display. Both displays will feature a 120Hz AMOLED panel, delivering smooth visuals with a peak brightness of 3000nits, ensuring an excellent viewing experience.
The Xiaomi 14 series will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera equipped with a ‘Light Hunter 900’ sensor and a customized Leica Summilux lens. The standard Xiaomi 14 will have a fixed aperture, whereas the Pro variant will offer a variable aperture. Additionally, users can expect a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.
The vanilla Xiaomi 14 will be powered by a 4,610mAh battery and support 90W fast charging, while the Xiaomi 14 Pro will feature a slightly larger 4,880mAh battery with 120W fast charging capabilities. Both models will support 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging, providing users with flexibility and convenience.
