Indian tennis player Sania Mirza’s former husband and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik has tied the knot with Sana Javed. The couple shared a few glimpses from their wedding on Instagram on Saturday, January 20.
The two have starred together on various commercials together. Rumors of them dating first arose when Malik took to his Instagram to wish the Pakistani actress on her birthday. Javed was previously hitched to Umar Jaswal.
The news came as a shock to many as there had never been any official reports of Mirza and Malik separating. Although speculations were on the rise, as a result of the duo’s limited public appearance in recent years.
On Sunday, January 21, Mirza’s team released an official statement to reveal that the couple had parted ways a few months ago. The statement further congratulated Malik and wished him well while also urging fans to respect Sania’s privacy.
Sania and Shoaib got married in 2010 at the formers’ residence in Hyderabad in April 2010, soon after Shoaib’s divorce from Ayesha Siddiqui. The two have a son named Izhaan. Sources close to the two have revealed that Malik’s infidelity strained their marriage. The two were last seen together in Dubai while hosting their son’s birthday party last year.
Another source has revealed to PTI that the tennis star had unilaterally divorced the Pakistani cricketer. Recently, Mirza had shared a cryptic post on her Instagram handle which fans think might have hinted at her personal life.

Ever since Malik and Javed’s wedding pictures were made public, social media witnessed an overwhelming number of people, across both nations, extending their support towards the tennis player.
